Foaming Bath Whip – Lana Suhanich

Foaming Bath Whip
  • 6oz Glycerin
  • 5oz SCI (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate)
  • 3oz Cocoa Betaine
  • 3oz Propylene Glycol **I use this as it is a humectant that does not kill the lather – you could experiment with sodium lactate, butylene glycol, or other water based humectants
  • 1oz Water
  • 1oz Stearic Acid
  • ½ t. Citric Acid if needed to adjust Ph
  • Preservative of choice – at correct % (I used liquid germall plus at 0.5%)
Directions:
  1. On the stove – NOT in microwave!! Melt together Glycerin, SCI, Cocoa Betaine, Propylene Glycol until the SCI are dissolved.
  2. Add water, stearic Heat and mix gently until everything is melted together.
  3. CHECK PH the SCI – I usually need 1/2 teaspoon of citric to get the PH to 7. But start with ¼ t and work your way down.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool until you get to the right temp for the preservative you are using.
  5. When it cools it will solidify. When it is solid – that’s when you whip it in the mixer. I add my color and FO before whipping
