Menthol Foot Scrub – Karen Rogers

This is an emulsified scrub it can be made without the menthol as a body scrub. When it mixes with water it becomes “lotiony” and moisturizing. If you don’t want to use menthol just leave it out. I also use Eucalyptus EO and Peppermint EO (Aztec’s Eucalyptus and Spearmint sometimes when I am low on EO’s) you can scent with anything you like.

  • 24.33% Shea Butter
  • 3% Menthol Crystals
  • 16.66% BTMS 50 (you can use BTMS 25 or E-wax if you use e-wax it is not as conditioning) 22.22% Sunflower Oil
  • 22.22 % Apricot Kernel Oil
  • 8.33% Polysorbate 20
  • 2.77% EO or FO Preservative of choice I use about
  • 2 ½ – 3 cups of sugar Oils can be changed to whatever you prefer
  1. Melt the butter, BTMS, and menthol.
  2. Add the oils once melted and mix well.
  3. Add the polysorbate and mix well with an electric mixer until the oils are cooled down but still liquid
  4. Add the sugar in small amounts mixing after each addition as if you are creaming butter and sugar when baking
  5. Continue until all the sugar is added and you are the consistency that it holds together well. You may use more or less sugar.
  6. Add your fragrance and preservative of your choosing Mix these 2 ingredients last but well mix them. It will firm up more as it cools.
  7. Package in clean jars and label
